1. 일단은 이거 쓰자
   • Let's just use this for now.
2. 일단은 이게 다예요
   • This is it for now.
3. 일단 이거면 충분해
   • This will be enough for now.

 

대화 예시: 이름 정하기

A: 뭐라고 부르지?

• What do we call her?

B: 프라이데이? 진짜로?

• Friday? Are you serious?

A: 왜, 그거 진짜로 있는 여자 이름이야

• What? That's a legit girl's name.

B: 알았어, 그럼 일단은 프라이데이라고 부르고, 다른 것도 생각해보자. 예쁜 이름을 지어주고 싶단 말이야

• Fine. We'll call her Friday for now, but let's see what else we can come up with. I want to give her a pretty name.

 

Unit 01 - Practice & Further Use

1. 장기적인 해결책은 아니지만 지금으로서는 이게 최선이야
   • This isn't a long-term solution, but for now, it's the best we've got.
2. 더 확실해질 때까지 일단은 우리만 알고 있자
   • For now, let's just keep this between us until we have more certainty.
3. 회사에 일이 생겨서 일단은 여행 계획을 보류해야 되겠어
   • Something came up at work and it looks like I'm going to have to put my travel plans on hold for now.
4. 돕고 싶은 건 알지만 시작한 지 얼마 안 됐으니까 제대로 된 일을 하기 시작하려면 시간이 좀 걸릴거야. 그러니까 일단은 최대한 많이 배우는 데 집중하도록 해
   • I know you want to help, but you're still new and it'll be a while before you can start doing any real work. So for now, just focus on learning as much as you can.
5. 내 생각에 오늘은 충분히 한 것 같아. 내일 이어서 하자
   • I think we've done enough for today. Let's continue tomorrow.
6. 오늘은 영업이 끝난 모양이네. 내일 다시 오자
   • It looks like they're closed for the day. Let's come back tomorrow.
7. 고맙지만, 난 됐어. 오늘 밤은 충분히 마신 것 같아
   • Thanks, but I'm good. I think I've had enough to drink for tonight.
8. 이번 주는 예약이 다 찼다고 나오네. 가장 빠른게 다음 달이야
   • It says here they're fully booked for the week. The earliest is next month.
     ('It says here'는 특정 정보가 나와 있다/쓰여 있다는 뜻)
9. 약간의 지연이 있었어요. 그래서 당분간은 있는 것으로 버텨야 할 것 같아요
   • There's been a slight delay, so it looks like we're going to have to make do with what we have for the time being.
     ('make do with'는 '~으로 버티다/때우다/어떻게든 해보다'라는 뜻)
